Yet, many pieces of equipment have a much longer lifespan and could be better utilized through <strong>sharing systems, reuse, and smart maintenance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>BoardRiding Pass<\/strong> addresses this issue by offering <strong>simplified and structured access<\/strong> to equipment and services while integrating circular economy values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Objectives of the BoardRiding Pass<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\ud83d\udee0\ufe0f <strong>Promote responsible use of equipment<\/strong><br>Encourage rental, second-hand use, and preventive maintenance to extend product life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udd04 <strong>Facilitate product traceability<\/strong><br>Ensure transparent tracking of the lifecycle of boards, sails, and accessories using digital tools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83e\udd1d <strong>Unite the rider community around a sustainable vision<\/strong><br>Raise awareness and involve practitioners in a more collective and committed form of riding.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83c\udfea <strong>Support local stakeholders<\/strong><br>Highlight stores, shapers, schools, and rental businesses that adopt responsible practices.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83c\udfed <strong>Engage brands and manufacturers<\/strong><br>Involve them in the continuous improvement of products and business practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.archipelago.bzh\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Sans-titre-1-copie-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-286\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Connected and Structured Ecosystem<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>By creating a connected and structured ecosystem, we enable enthusiasts to access the <strong>right equipment at the right time<\/strong>, while reducing the environmental impact of the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To launch this innovation, we will conduct the <strong>first real-world trial of the Digital Product Passport<\/strong> in one of the most iconic board sports: <strong>windsurfing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>But first, what is a Digital Product Passport?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s an innovation that allows the <strong>full lifecycle of equipment<\/strong> to be tracked\u2014from manufacturing to reuse, including maintenance and potential repairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to this digital passport, every board, sail, or foil can be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u2705 Precisely identified (brand, model, year of manufacture, material)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83e\uddfe Linked to its usage history (maintenance, repairs, previous owner(s))<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udcb0 Enhanced in the second-hand market with transparent traceability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83c\udf10 Connected to the rider community to foster sharing and circular economy practices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why start with windsurfing?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>windsurfing community<\/strong> is one of the most committed in the world of board sports. These passionate riders are deeply connected to the environment and are highly mobilized around initiatives that reduce the ecological impact of their practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Windsurfing is also a relevant market for this pilot because:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The equipment is <strong>technical and expensive<\/strong>, requiring regular maintenance to last over time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>second-hand market is active<\/strong> but lacks transparency and reliability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Riders are <strong>attached to their gear<\/strong>, and being able to trace its history will build confidence in transactions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Let\u2019s Test, Build, and Scale Together<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With this pilot project, we aim to <strong>test the real-world functionality<\/strong> of the Digital Product Passport and measure its impact on the use and transfer of equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Today, BoardRiding Pass is developing and testing a functional prototype<\/strong> of the Digital Passport in collaboration with <strong>local companies<\/strong> who supported our initial R&amp;D phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And for this, <strong>we need your support!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve launched a <strong>Kengo crowdfunding campaign<\/strong> to help us reach our goals\u2014and beyond: to <strong>scale this solution across other outdoor sports<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\ud83d\udc49 Every funding milestone will unlock the BoardRiding Pass for a new sport: <strong>Wingfoil, Kitesurfing, Surfing\u2026 and more<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An Innovation for the Board Sports Community The BoardRiding Pass is a groundbreaking initiative developed by Archipelago to revolutionize the practice of board sports by combining easier access to reliable information, circular economy principles, and environmental protection.
